What exactly are you asking? Stocking suggestions or water parameter suggestions? Have you read the free eBook from the menu on your left? Please don't just try to start up a tank without research first. Try out a fishless cycle!
8 tanks running now:
1x 220 gallon, 2x55 gallon, 1x40 gallon long, 1x29 gallon, 1x20 gallon long, 1x5.5 gallon, 1x2 gallon
Gouramis, barbs, rasboras, plecos, corys, tetras, fancy guppies, swordtails, ottos, rainbow shark, upside-down catfish, snails, and Max and Sparkles the bettas.

He knows about the cycle, and he has access to seeded media from either of my 4 filters, he's just looking for suggestions on stocking it.
Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years.

Check out this site about dwarf cichlids: http://www.dwarfcichlid.com/index.php. There's a lot of different colorful choices. You could have a couple as center pieces and a small group of schoolers. I have a cockatoo, blue ram and a bolivian ram in my 29 gallon with some neon tetras. Lots of color and pretty active fish.
Just make sure your water parameters are good for the different kinds of fish. Although the blue rams usually prefer softer water ours is a little on the hard side but I've read the farm raised rams are a little more adaptable to those kind of water conditions.125 gallon Discus tank

I have hard water with a ph of 7.6. I've never had a problem keeping any type of fish other than dwarf gourami's.
Personally, I would go with the tetra's. Cichlids are pretty awesome but they have a way of breeding constantly and you don't have a lot of space there for a ton of babies.Cycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••

Look at dwarf tangs and shelldwellers or kribs. They will love your water.
