Thread: Light

  1. Default Light

Everytime my light turns on, it blink on and off for a while before finally staying on. Whats up with that?

Sounds like fairly normal fluorescent behavior. Your starter might be starting to fail. Cheap to replace.
    8 tanks running now:
    1x 220 gallon, 2x55 gallon, 1x40 gallon long, 1x29 gallon, 1x20 gallon long, 1x5.5 gallon, 1x2 gallon
Gouramis, barbs, rasboras, plecos, corys, tetras, fancy guppies, swordtails, ottos, rainbow shark, upside-down catfish, snails, and Max and Sparkles the bettas.

    Ö OHIO-IN!!!!!

Anyways, yeah normal thing for most stock fluorsecent fixtures. All mine do it. It probably is the starter, but I wouldn't replace it. I run my starters until they die.

Like GM said, your starter might be getting old. Maybe the bulb too.
