Water Changes
One of the things I hate about changing the water is putting the new water back in the tank. Getting it out is easy with a gravel siphon. Putting water back in is a pain. I like to do 50% water changes for the gold fish and with a 5 gallon bucket and a 120g tank that’s like... carry the two… 12 buckets of water!
The other day it dawned on me that I had an old pump from an out door fountain. So I stuck a hose on it and put it in a bucket. Then I use another bucket that I can fill in the bath tub, get the temp right and add some aqua-safe, and use that to fill the bucket that feeds the tank. It introduces the new water to the tank nice and slow.

Best way IMO. I wanted to move my 75g so I filled up some coolers and other fish tanks I had with all the water. Moved the tank and used a pump to put the water back. It was faster, less messy, and I did not have to strain myself trying to lift the aquariums.

Have you ever tried using a Python? Just connect it to your sink or a hose and you can empty and refill the tank.

I actually have one but the attachments that came with it wouldn’t connect to any of my facets. I might have to visit the hardware store!
