    Default Fluval 204

Fluval 204 used for $40 worth it?

I've become addicted to buying stuff on CL

Sounds Ok. Its not a steal or anything but if it works it would be decent.

I found a few others but they would total 60 after s/h so 40 is good.

    Appreciate the info.

I haven't completely built up my 'good filter' knowledge yet.

    Thanks again

were it me, i'd look for an 05 series. The 04 series seemed to be hit and miss, there were good ones and there were bad ones. I have a 205 and like it, though i think it could put out more flow

I don't know if you really want a fluval but I have used the rena's since I got into this hobby. I have had two xp1's and one xp3. I bought the xp3 from bigalsonline for $90 when they had a sale. I am not sure if it was marked wrong but I bought one. I have not had any problems with them. Might be worth a try to see if someone is selling one for a good deal...

    Default 205

I have a Fluval 205 in a 29 gallon tank. Had it about six months and think it's a great filter. Easy to clean and the water has been crystal clear from day one.

Just bought a Ehiem 2213 for a new 20 gallon tank and am not thrilled with it at this point.

I'd say you can't go wrong with the Fluval. But as mentioned earlier I'd go with the 05 series.
