That's even worse is he will not be able to get rid of it and he'll probably turn him loose in the waters there.

Yeah, sadly I would hope it would not make it if they let it go. See, this is what happens and then politicians come in and try to ban everything they can because of one person... h

Bottom line, IMO is that Pacus should not even be sold in LFS. I would wager that MAYBE 1% of the people that enter a store have the adequate housing for an adult Pacu. They should be orderable for the people who want them, but not kept on a daily basis.
I know my LFS doesn't keep them for this reason.Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years.

I feel bad for the people buying these types of fish with no clue how big they get... Just goes to show that most stores just don't care about the fish they sell.

Some kid just pulled one of those out of a lake around here. Irritates me to no end that thoughtless idiots release non-native species into streams and lakes. With no natural predators and water conditions that allow them to live, they thrive and destroy native populations.
