My new plakat as of a couple weeks ago has been really shy. Yesterday I was in the LFS and grabbed some new plants (rotala indica) to try seeing as I have a million watts of light. As soon as I planted the new plants he went and hid behind them. An hour later he was out, all over the tank, and swimming up to the glass to stare at me. He's been doing this all day today too, and I was able to snap a pretty good pic of him! I guess he feels secure now

PS - do ya'll like my ghetto PVC mounting legs I made for my light yesterday? Coralife legs don't fit this light and I was sick of having it leaning on the glass handle to the top of the tank, lol. It gets too hot to rest directly on the glass.

Thanks guys :) I wasn't nuts about my legs at first but they are starting to grow on me, lol. I painted 'em with acrylic artist paints because I was too lazy to spray paint them. Suprisingly you can't really see any brush strokes. I lightly super-glued them in place so I can snap them off if I ever need to, mostly the glue is there so I don't have to move them around and set it back up everytime I open the cover. We'll see how long it takes be fore I have to re-glue!

Yup, it's a 2.5. It has a submersible filter (Tom's Dive Clean Mini) and a heater (Tetra) but they're now hidden behind the plants (filter outflow is at surface of water and blows over the plants) Substrate is Flourite Black.

Here's an older pic where you can see the filter and heater:

And one taken tonight, with dwarf baby tears just added:

I'm hoping the baby tears will spread into a carpet, we'll see how it goes!

Yeah I found those rocks in my front yard, lol, I don't know what kind they are but they passed the vinegar test so I tossed 'em in there. I like that they don't turn my water brown like the driftwood in my other 2.5
