  1. Question Help me pick a new light bulb!

My light bulb is in need of replacement. I don't have fish yet, almost through with cycling though. I have a 29g, with 1 strip light. I am not using live plants....at least not now, but if I decide to, I know I'll have to buy a new fixture for the tank anyway.
I've been looking at all the different 24" 20w fluourescent bulbs, and I can't decide on which brand/type I want.
I plan on keeping a pair of GBR and a school of corys for sure. But I haven't made up my mind yet if I want a small group of rainbows-neon blue dwarfs (i think that's what they are called) OR school of cardinal tetras.

I want the colors to look as bright and enhanced as possible. What light would you get?

    I was looking at these:
    Aquarays 10K
    Aquaglo 18K
but they seem to be too high in the K, I was thinking something more along the 5-6K. IDK...

  2. Default

I use an aquaglow 18k bulb in my community tank. Since its so high on the spectrum it really makes the blues "pop", I noticed a coloring increase just by swapping out the reg 6k bulb it came with for the 18k Aquaglo
Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years.

Aquarays 10K or go to Lowes/Home depot and get a GE Aquarium/plant bulb and save $$$
As I get older I find myself thinking about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.
