  1. Default Pink Kisser question

I have 2 pink kissers in my tank, and their definatelly my favorite. However, one didnt grow as fast as the other, and now is quite afraid of the larger one. The large one as NEVER attacked any other fish, but he does chase the smaller one away from food. Is this normal in a male-male, female-female, or male-female relationship? or is it just the size? And any way I can help the small guy out would be awesome, I already have mny hiding placed he utilises often.

its probably a male/ female thing.
As long as theres no physical damage, youre good

The larger has dominance over the smaller one. It is pretty normal. Just make sure your small guy gets enough food!

Theres absolutelly no physical damage, I've even seen the smaller one seem to clean the big one, like its scraping algae from the large one. I just feel sorry for the little one, heres a pic of his/her usual hiding place, when its not behind the driftwood.

And heres a pic of the big one, looking smug, and mad at me for not feeing him every 30 minutes:

Yes, those plants are NOT doing well, when they were taken out they kind of withered for some reason. Probably going to buy new if they don't recover.

Your gouramis look great. How big is the large one. I have a 5" Pink Kissing myself!

  7. Default

I'd say hes around 2.5-3", the small guy is more like 2-2.5". They were less than an inch when I got them, so good growth to me :D

    Defintely. Good luck with them!

the males usually are a bit more colourful than the females, also the feelers on the male are quite a bit longer than the females as well. males generally are bigger that females, and if they are courting it will look like he is picking on her, as long as she doesnt appear to have any damage she should be ok, if you are able to try putting them in a separate tank together and try breeding them, its realy cool watching as the male makes his bubblenest. hope this is helpful

I have a 5 gallon or a 10 gallon I could use for that, but both would be a pain in the ass to set up, even temporarilly, since i have LITERALLY no place to put either except next to my tv 5 feet in the air >.>
But there is no damage, so I guess they'll be fine. I just can't help but feel sorry for the female. I hardly ever see her out front, and the male drives her away from the food, but since I have to get ome down to my cories, she always finds some.
