fishless cycle SW setup
I am starting my 75g hex cycle process. I am going to go buy/add the salt to the aquarium tomorrow after I get out of Org Chem II. Do I have to buy ammonia to start the cycle or does the tank do it automatically? Or is it just a better idea to buy the ammonia?
Also, I have some LR I want to add to the aquarium once I have the SG just right. Can I add the LR while its doing the cycle? I assume I should so it will cure over the next month or two and help with filtration.

You don't need ammonia for a SW cycle. All you need is an appropriate amount of live rock. You will probably want between 75 to 100 lbs. of rock. The length of the cycle will depend on what kind of live rock you get a hold of.

I don't know what the LFS has for sale yet. I will find out tomorrow. I assume I should have the SG up before I buy the rock.
