Need Firefox help please...
So this is probably a really stupid question but I'm more used to IE. I switched to Firefox a few months ago and so far I love it. As of last night though, it doesn't remember my login information on any of the forums I frequent, and doesn't remember my email. I jump around between 5 or 6 different forums and I have to login everything, before I'd already be logged in. I haven't changed any settings, and I like everything to already be logged in because this is my personal computer and nobody else uses it. What do I need to look for in the options menu to fix this (or is it somewhere else?) and why would it start logging me out all the time if I haven't changed anything? If someone could please help me out that would be awesome!

Do you not get a pop up at the top of the webpage that asks you if you want firefox to remember a password? Many forums also have a little box to check for remembering passwords.
But here is from the firefox support site.
Password Manager settings
Firefox will remember passwords by default. You may have disabled this feature, or told Firefox to never remember passwords for a particular site.
1. At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the ToolsFirefoxEdit menu, and select Options...Preferences....
2. Select the Security panel.
3. If it isn't already check marked, check Remember passwords for sites.
4. To the right of Remember passwords for sites, click the Exceptions... button .
5. Make sure that the site you're trying to log in to isn't in the list.
* If it is, select the entry and click Remove.
6. Click Close Close the Exceptions window.
7. Click OK Close the preferences window. Now that you've configured Firefox to remember passwords, try logging in to the site again.
If this doesn't help maybe someone else can help. I just vaguely know my way around computers....

I did find this also too...
Cannot use or save passwords after upgrading Firefox
After upgrading to Firefox 3.0.2, you may find that you can no longer save new passwords and that previously saved passwords are not automatically filled in when visiting certain websites.
This is a recently discovered issue with Firefox 3.0.2. The passwords are not lost, however if there are any passwords which contain non-ASCII characters, Firefox 3.0.2 will be unable to read or write your passwords.
To confirm that this is indeed the cause of the problem, right after visiting a page where you previously had a password saved:
1. At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click the Tools menu and select Error Console
2. If you see an error that looks like the following, you are experiencing this bug:
this._storage is null Source File:
file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsLoginManager.js Line: 479
This issue is fixed in Firefox 3.0.3 and up. If you are experiencing this problem, you should upgrade Firefox to the latest version. For instructions, see Updating Firefox.

You may need to enable cookies on the browser. Check to see if you have those enable first. GLHF

Thanks guys, but I still can't seem to figure out what the issue is. I have version 3.0.7, cookies are enabled, and it does actually know my passwords. On a site, if I start to type in my username it suggests it, then fills in the password for me. I'll click the "rememer me" box on the site, then when I come back it doesn't remember me. This is for every website I frequent (hotmail + 7 forums) I guess it's not remembering the remember me box, I have no idea what setting that would be, lol
It's not really a big deal, just kind of annoyingLindsay

Better than the problem I had, last year Firefox updated and all my bookmarks vanished
As I get older I find myself thinking about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Have you tried going to the top of the page and clicking Tools>Options and then clicking on the privacy tab to check your settings there? Click on "Settings" in that box also and make sure that the checked dialog boxes are correct. If all else fails you can try uninstalling Firefox and then installing it again. Sometimes that works. Hmm.... I have no idea what happened but I just opened FF again and now it's remembering everything like normal. I haven't changed any settings, just looked at the options to see if something had changed. I don't get it!
Thanks for the help guys, even if FF somehow fixed itself, lolLindsay

Sweet love it when things fix themselves. Just out of curiosity what OS are you using?
