Coralife timer?
Is it just me or is this a coralife digital timer being sold as just a regular one for less? Guess I'll be getting one of these over the coralife.

could be good, but personally with power bars i stick to brand names like coralife. heard too many horror stories of cheap power bars randomly catching fire and burning the room or house down

>.< That would suck.
Also, does anybody know if the day and night settings on the coralife timers have to be set at the same time. (e.g. day - 9:00am-9:00pm, night -9:00pm-9:00am) Or can you set each individualy? (e.g. one day slot 9:00am-9:00pm and one day slot 10:00am-8:00pm)

I'm going to say yes. It looks exactly like the one I have on my loach tank.

I have the digital Coralife timer, and you can't set individual plug-ins. The two day plug-ins always come on and off together. And the night always come on and off together.

Nice find.
Honestly, it would probably be an upgrade for me as far as the timers go, i use analog timers. Never would pay 35 for such a small light bar, i already have two lines of surge protection. 18, maybe. However, like cocoa was saying i wouldnt trust it as my main, but i dont use coralife either.
I buy the computer electronics - grade power strips with the little surge protection LEDS and all that, its pretty neat you can see it ground a surge. Next time i upgrade i will get one with battery backup, and switch to digital timers.
They really arent even that much more expensive than name-brand aquarium power strips, but of course, no built in timers.

Looks just like our Coralife power strip. I can't tell from the description though whether it has the outlets for the moon lights that switch on when the daylight outlets switch off and vice versa. Don't know if that's a big deal for you though.

Okay, scratch getting a coralife timer. Unless I run the actinics on day or night and day light on the other and just leave moon lights on all the time.

I am going to Walmart and getting just a timer for my lights. They're cheap. And I only have one light switch so it will do just fine.

I was thinking of getting individual timers for each cord.
