  1. Default Gouramis & planted tank.

Hey guys, I started off my tank with beach sand and fake castle ornaments and plastic plants.. now I have a silicate tan sand with live plants, driftwood, and one rock cave that looks not too unnatural. I have it stocked with a male and female Dwarf Gourami, two Emperor Tetras (which I am getting rid of so I can get two more cories for my one lonely guy), one Cory, and two Otos. As far as plants go I have Amazon Swords, anubias, and java fern. I can't wait to see it all grow more, I upped my lighting to 30w and I supplement with the water with iron enriched plant gro, and I also have flourish fert tabs. I collected the driftwood myself at the beach and soaked it for a month before putting it in.. you can see some of this black looking algae growing on the one piece, what is it and what can I do to get rid of it?

Because of the glare I couldn't get a very good picture of the overall tank..

I couldn't get a very good picture of my female Dwarf Gourami, but she really is quite pretty.

Nice pics, i have a metallic blue dwarf gourami aswell, he likes to be hand fed.
I've only got to put my hand near the top of the water and he's the first one up to say hello. When i do my water changes he picks around my hand while i'm holding the syphon.
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~Chuck Clark
