I am confused about this sickness
I am confused about this sickness that my beta Sangria has.
Let me tell you what happened. First I switched tank mates because Sangria kept scaring Corona and bumping the divider. So I put him in with Aslan. everything was fine for about a week--flaring out and interacting.
Then I noticed that he was hiding in his cave a lot and would not come out; even for feeding unless I moved the light. He would come out--eat--then go back and hide--this happened for a week.
Yesterday, when he came out there was this huge white bubble on his head; it reaches from one eye to the other eye on the top of his head. But that is not all--it looks like the section between his upper mouth and his eye is-- well missing is the best way to describe it. I thought it was ick at first but I did not think that ick would eat a section out of the fish. I would post pictures but my son broke my camera so all I have is the description above.
He was in isolation with ick med yesterday and then I changed the water and put in Melafix today. But I do not know what else to do. I do not think that he will last long like this--poor guy. I have only had him a few weeks.
Water temp is around 80 and all the parameters are fine. I had already changed the water the day before the white bubble appeared. It was like one day-nothing and then the next day-huge white bubble.__________________________________________________ _

Well, Sangre did not make the night.
I woke up this morning and he was lying at the bottom. The mysterious white bubble was gone and the scales underneath it were gray.
I still am confused about what the bubble was but at least Sangre is not suffering any more and is swimming happily is the big pond in the sky.
RIP-- Sangre--my blood red veil-tail.
