My lfs sells several different sizes in mm, whats that about?

Different manufacturers of aquarium products, different products, thus different sizes of airline tubing. Metric is pretty standard sizing globally except in a few countries.

Why doesn't airline tubing come in one size everywhere? You get a roll that's nice, fits all your equipment and the next purchase elsewhere you end up with stuff that's so darned small one end might fit into an air pump but the other end won't fit your bubbler, sponge filter or a darned thing. I just spent 20 minutes tryng to get my airline tubing to fit my sponge filter.

Airline tubing should not be like buying car parts.

I will be buying all vinyl tubing after this and plastic is out!

I did the same thing. I got hold of some really skinny stuff, didn't notice it at the store.

I LOVE that. Nothing pleases me more than seeing everything in mm, cm, km, kil, m, mL, L, g and Kg so I have no earthly idea of what they are talking about.
