    Started a new tank today!
Due to the poulation increase in our household (9 new Mollies) , I started getting another 20 gallon tank ready, cycling.
How long do you suggest before it's ready?
I added CYCLE and the old foam thing from the other 20 gallon. It was all yucky and bacteria filled.

Place that foam inside your new filter.
Cycle is not the best, try some Tatra Safe Start and you will have a cycled tank in no time.If you bag some of your gravel in a nylon sock and place it under your filter intake inside your tank.
    Congrats on your new tank!

If you added your old filter media already, then you should have the fish in the tank. The bacteria will die without an ammonia source so I suggest getting your fish in that tank.

Yeah, if you put in cycled filter media then the tank is cycled, and the bacteria will start to die off unless there's something producing ammonia in the tank.

Sorry for the delay in answering this. I put the female fish in.
All is well. Thanks for the advise. I did add the foam filter into the new filter, added some of the water from the old tank and a silk plant that was yucky. So far so good. Thanks guys ! Love you all!

    Thanx a lot. Oh, puh-leeze.
THIS tank is to TRY to separate males from females. If THEY somehow reproduce you'll be reading about me in the newspaper because my husband will have killed me.
