Those fish are my geophagus jurupari, beauties none the less.

I have been corrected, i was misinformed that these were geophagus steindachneri when i purchased them. I still love them and will keep them in this tank...for now.

Actually, I believe they are Satanoperca Leucosticta as the real geophagus jurupari does not have any spots or stripes and is very rare in the aquarium trade (looks like yours have striped faces). Many people still sell any type of eartheater as jurupari and it's not correct.
Can you get any better pictures of them??

i'll try tomorrow, they're quite flustered from the move.

But after looking at pictures and comparing the two species these are most certainly Satanoperca Leucosticta, the have stripes on their faces, a horizontal stripe running the length of them in the right light and vertical stripes in the right lighting as well. That is most certainly what these are, I'll still upload more pictures tomorrow when they're a bit more settled.

I couldn't sleep last night so I decided to start cycling my old planted 20 gallon dwarf cichlid breeding tank

The log is hollow but yet, it is an awkward shape so i took the best picture to show it hollow as i could

after it cycles this will most likely be filled with some Apistogramma species, hopefully Apistogramma Inca if i can find them somewhere.
