$3 babies is a great option!!! Your plan Mith sounds good - go there, see what they have, come back here, we'll work it all out, then you can go and tell the LFS man to order anything they don't have! YAY!

Ok it looks to me like it's on its way. Keep testing until you see the nitrites get to 0, and I think a bit more nitrates will show.

I'm keeping the amonia at around 4-5 ppm. It's my understanding that I keep it at that level until the amonia dissappears overnight. So ya, I'm still adding amonia. I assume it WOULD be toxic which is why I'm doing the fishless cycle.

Yup, that's the plan. Now once the amonia gets to to the point where it dissapates overnight... AND my nitrites are zero.... I do a 50% water change and then add my fish right?

Ya, I'll get my LAZY buttcheeks over there tomorrow. I really like the owner of the one in the city where I work.... but the one that had the tattood fish also had some nice fish, but I didn't like the clerk's attitude when I told her shame on her for having tattood fish.

I'll MORE than likely end up getting the fish at the store close to me. It's an asian man who's very polite and helpful.

I would go and see what both have - but I would be more inclined to buy from people that aren't rude when I ask why they stock such an ugly cruel thing such as tattooed fish.

I've been spending a LOT of time here http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/ looking at the fish. I'm definitely leaning towards the Mbuna species. They're mostly 3" which is a good size for me. Gonna be tough when it comes to actually making the decisions. Besides like I said, if I'm going to get 10 fish right off the bat, I'll have to probably get what he has. He did have nice looking fish that I liked.
