labnjab's 75 gallon goldfish build
Our goldfish are getting bigger, and have been saving up for a new place. Now they can move out of their 55 gallon apartment and into a 75 gallon all glass townhouse
(which they will begin saving for a 150 gallon mansion)
So far we have the tank, light, and my grandfather with be building the stand. We plan on using the 55 gallon's current cascade 1000 canister and aquatech 30/60 filters until we save up for a second canister filter. This will hopefully be a low tech low light planted tank (mostly java fern because we know they don't eat them)
Our goals
Filtration
Cascade 1000
Cascade 1500
Lighting
Current 2x65 watt PC light with moonlights (with 2 6500K bulbs)
Substrate
Pool filter sand if we can find it this time of year
Plants
Mostly Java ferns, but we will experiment with what they will and will not eat
Aeration
AirTech 2k4 and some sort of medium size bubble stone
Here are some pictures of the new tank, the light, and their current apartment

I will keep you posted as we progress. The only thing stopping us now is the stand which I hope to have by the weekend, or the start of next week
edit: don't mind the sheets in the first pic, that's what we use to cover our sump at night, it shines right into the bedroom

Cool!
Think your Grandfather has time to build me a stand? We're a sadly un-handy family...

I forgot to mention, this is going to be a low budget tank, so far we only have $75 invested, which is what the tank cost used

I got a black background attached to the tank and I decided to buy a stand instead of build one. I found a stand on craigslist for a 120 on craigslist that I'm gonna try out. I'm still on the lookout for pool filter sand and if I find it I will be setting up tonight. I'll post pics this afternoon

Sweet! Although I must say that I am amazed you were able to restrain yourself from making that your new reef tank, lol. I don't think that I could fight that urge!
