10 gallon tank, what to stock?
I have all the stuff to set up a ten gallon tank, just not the tank, lol.
I plan on using my old marineland 170 filter, so I can just swap out one of the filters from my goldfish tank, so it will be well seeded.
Im just not sure what to put in the tank, what fish, what decor, what substrate, ect.
I was originally thinking of starting with some sand, java moss, a piece of driftwood or two, and some ghost shrimp, then move to cherry shrimp if I can keep the ghost shrimp alive.
anyone have any ideas with what to do in a small tank? I'm open to all suggestions, and ideas at this point.
thanks everyone

shrimp tank or neon tank. a nice sized school of neons would be cool especialy if heavily planted.

My tank has cherry shrimp and white cloud mountain minnows. I know a lot of people say not to keep fish with shrimp but my shrimp are swimming all over the place, climbing up plants to the top of the water, etc. and the minnows never bother them. I'm sure they eat a few of the tiniest babies but I've seen some surviving babies already and it's only been a month.
I'd really like to try sparkling gouramis sometime but not with the shrimp. It's probably safest to stick with top feeders with upturned mouths for the shrimps' sakes.
Remember to do a fishless (and invert-less) cycle first. Shrimp are really sensitive to ammonia and nitrite. Plus they eat the microscopic goodies that grow in mature tanks so you need to let the food grow a little.10 gallon planted: white cloud mountain minnows, RCS
29 gallon planted: Dalmation lyretail mollies, red mickey platies, wrestling halfbeaks, one Kribensis, and an apple snail
5 rabbits, 2 cats, and one husband
