    I love watching my geo brasiliensis sifting the sand in search of food,
    here's a few pics of them in action ...

    I failed miserably at trying to plant my firemouth tank because of the spitting sand. The plants and wood would be covered with sand the day after a tank cleaning. They do love those sand bottom tanks tho.

    As always, great photos.

    It's unreal how much sand these fish move, I agree planted tanks
    are not a good idea with sand sifting fish.

    my geos even do this with gravel. really cool to watch, and they are great scavengers! great pics as always Brookfish!

    I like those fish! I like the pics too!
    I do enjoy watching fish rearrange their tank! lol My Os like to move the gravel into piles.I even try to arrange it so its the way the move everything and they change it again.I don't mind having something different to look at every day!

    variety is the spice of life my friend!! I rearrange my entire aquascape about once a month.
