Fish babies
I just looked at some pictures a member took of their fish's babies. There are a LOT of them!
My question is, what the heck does one do with all those babies?????Yup, I got fish!

That is why you have to find homes for them all.
Unless you are getting into breeding getting a pair of cichlids is never a good idea.Just males or females is a lot less trouble!
Some people here have many many tanks.lol
I'm all better now, I only have 5 or is it 6.I know I have 1 more coming soon.Ray

I'm currently setting up a cichlid tank. Would it be a good idea to just get males then? Males are typically more colorful anyway right? I got a 125 gallon. I'd like to get maybe 20 fish. Do you think that would be too many?

Not as many fry as you'd think make it to juvi-hood. Alot of fry are lost/sacrificed to bringing up a whole batch. I personally have more eartheater fry than I know what to do with, so I trade them to the LFS for supplies or whatever I need. The trick is to have fry that people want. Electric yellows, convicts, mbunas, etc... are so common that it's hard to get rid of them after awhile and you become overwhelmed with fry.

Many people go with all male setups because there are no females to fight over and the males usually are the more colorful of the species. These tanks are usually beautiful show tanks, but you won't get the satisfaction of little baby fry in your aquarium. It's all up to the owner.

If you don't want thousands of babies, don't get convicts. They are worse than rabbits and bred constantly.
Are you thinking of south american cichlids, because of the wood I see in your tank? African cichlids are into rocks formations.Cycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••

What type of cichlids are you considering? Some types need to be slightly overstocked, to keep aggression down,so 20 would not be enough.
