Anti Virus 2009 Web Scanner

I just got this popup...AntiVirus 2009 web scanner has detected dangerous spyware, and it is strongly recommended that I remove it, now. I know this sounds a stupid question...but we don't have virus protection. What is this message? Should I do what's recommended or is this a virus in disguise?

I just tried to close the window as it popped up again, and I have the first message minimized. It says Don't close this window if your want you computer to be unsoiled Thia is supposed to be from Micrisoft but it really doesn't sound like it...those typos are not mine!

HELP!!!

It's a virus!! I just had to wipe out my whole computer and start from scratch last week because of that...

Yeah...I've just googled it. I haven't downloaded anything...but I can't get rid of the pop up screen. Any suggestions?

I couldn't get it off my computer no matter what I tried, but you might have better luck than I did. I asked for advice in here too and got some good responses, I'm sure someone else will chime in. I just run AVG free edition as virus protection, it picked up that I had Antivirus 2009 but wasn't able to remove it. I gave up trying and reformatted my computer and did a fresh install of Windows XP. Now i'm all good, except I can't get my sound card to work for some reason... anyhow, good luck!

its a virus, DO NOT open it. whoever created it will get all of your passwords, it happened to my uncle but he fixed it

OK...let's see if I'm understanding this. I'm assuming I don't have a BIG problem as I have not opened it. My only problem is getting this message off the screen?

I opened nothing, downloaded nothing, and shut off the computer and retarted to get rid of the message on the screen. Am I OK? Sorry for the stupid ???...but I'm really not very computer literate...

yeah its a virus (malware/trojen) Make sure you have a good virus scanner and malware scanner, and that should rid of it

If you didn't open anything or download anything, then you should be good. Its popped up for us before, and we didn't do anything except restarted windows and it didn't give us any problems. If you opened it, then thats a different story
