Rue: what's PITI or whatever that was?

Sharon: just cut up a footsie panty thingy with a rubberband.

Ellen: thanks for pacifier! I can't get special "babyfood" until tomorrow. I crushed up the flakes real good though. Will it live ok until tomorrow evening?
(What would it be eating if I had left it in the big tank with its parents anyway?)

The fry would eat algae, any pieces of flakes/pellets it can find on the bottom.. crud.. yumm

When you're home, you can try feeding the fry boiled egg yolk.. but just a tiny piece.. no bigger than a pin head..

Good excuse to eat eggs yourself.. !

If you have more fry and you have around $5 you can go to you lfs and buy some bbs (baby brine shrimp). Very good for filling the little tummies!

Any more questions.. just ask :)

    Congrats on the fry!
You should have more roughly every 2 months I believe.lol
A breeder net is an easy way to raise that fry for now. When you start getting more you may want to think about a fry tank.
    Good Luck!

i just leave my platy babies in the tank and a few survive by staying under the bubble maker thing. then another platy had about 5 babies when i got home from work today. there is no way i would be able to catch them to put in a separate tank. they are pretty good at hiding. i think they have just been eating the food i feed all my fish! (they were a suprise as well- just saw them swimming around one day!)
