fish id
can anyone id this goby?
he's small maybe 1" at most full grown.
i know the photo is blurry i will try to get a better one.
his dorsal fin is half black and half yellow.10g- planted freshwater
10 gallon freshwater, planted tank
1 Redigobius balteatus (rhinohorn goby), 2 Trichopsis pumila (sparkling gourami), 5 mircorasbora erythromicron (emerald dwarf rasbora), 1 Celestichthys margaritatus (celestial pearl danio), 1 Dermogenys pusilla (wrestling halfbeak), 6 amano shrimp
lots o malayn needle point snails

very similar but this guy has two black markings i am not sure if you can make them out in the photo, one runs from his eye to right by his gills, and the other from the top of his dorsal fin down.
his head is slightly larger but he displays the same checked tan color.
also his dorsal fin is a tall sharp triangle in shape. and he definitely moves in a darter fashion10g- planted freshwater

I can just barely make out the form of a fish...or maybe a cat......
Stupid 90's computer moniter! Does not come in handy in viewing tiny pictures!

Common name is Rhinohorn goby
These are cute little guys that will not grow bigger than 1.4 inches - cute huh?
They are found in freshwater, brackish and marine water in Asian waters.
Most folks keep them in freshwater with PH around 7 and temp - 77 - 82F

yeah, they are adorable. i have never heard of a fish quite that flexible in environment. thanks so much jess that was pretty amazing.

they are fun to watch. they follow each other around the tank in small darts. really great community fish, they mind their own business and are to small to eat anything else in the tank. even the amano shrimp were bigger then them!
