Hi All, Ive donated most my fish to a friend. and so i want to re-stock.

How many Figure 8 Puffers can i have in a 24G tank?

    Regards
    Darren.

24 Gallon [Tropical]- 2 Figure 8 puffers (rodd & todd)

18 Gallon [Nano Reef] - 10KG Fiji LR
    -2 Percula Clownfish
-1 Cleaner Shrimp (Mum) -1 Yellow Watchman Goby (Dena)
    -1 Royal Gramma - 1 Flame Hawkfish

You won't want to put too many in there, maybe 3-4. They willl grow to be about 3" so they will need the space. Be carefull mixing them with other fish as they are major fin nippers. Make sure you really love them before you buy them, they live forever....

I've always heard that puffers do best when kept as single individuals. They do get very nippy. Maybe you could put tank dividers in and have two?

I have read up quite a bit about these ones, and they are the least aggressive of all puffers, and are commonly kept in groups.

I Really do love these fish, and they will be nearly the only occupents of the tank.

Would a Pleco be ok with them?

I'm sure a pleco will be fine, they will probably just ignore it. Maybe get a scary looking one just incase!

IMO I would leave a Pleco out. These fish unless you get the small expensive ones get way to big for a 24 gallon tank.

Bristle Nose are a better option. Just supply him her with a cave made of rock or would and they are very happy, along with constant supply of algae.

The pleco has been in the tank for a year already. he is very healthy and happy.

Ok so i added 2 Figure Eights on saturday.. and thay are "as happy as larry" but im still not sure who larry is...

They are eating Prawn well, and my pleco likes the addition of prawn as well. and everyone seems very happy..

They are sooo cute.. .were hiding in the corner for the first few hours, only coming out to eat.. or when i was not close to the tank on saturday. but last night and today, they are out all the time.. and sooooo sooo cute!!!

took some pics and a vid yesterday (vid of the 2 sharing a prawn) so will try to upload them tonight.
