Let me know how that goes for you!
I have never used a canister before either and have been thinking about getting one to help run my next tank.

Fluval 305 for me, granted it is the only one I ever tried, but as a beginner, it was incredibly easy to setup and its been working flawlessly and quietly ever since.

    Mine was packaged with a with a bonus 25' Marina Aqua-Vac (python-like vacuum) :)

Just read some reviews on the petco web site. Changed my mind on the Fluval. Not worth taking a chance of the fishtank ending up on the living room floor. They seem to have a lot of problems with leaking. Seems to not be an "IF" it leaks, but rather a "WHEN" it leaks.

ive never had a fluval leak, ive had my 205 running for a few years and my others for a couple years, and i never clean them and theyre plugged in and running 24/7 and ive never had leaks.

some people have had fluvals running straight from 1985 to now without problems

Every Fluval Ive owned has leaked...Id be alot more up on the FX5 If I hadnt had such horrible Fluval experiences. Ive heard cascades are also prone to leak...thus its my only canister sitting in a bucket and I keep tabs on it all the time.
