Thanks everyone :)
Alas I think that an Oscars loveable nature usually leads to its suffering, I get atleast one returned Oscar a week at my LFS...and most usually just get put down rather than trying to house them in a small LFS and give them to another ill willed person with a 20G this time instead of the 10G it came from150G SA Cichlids|100G Planted Community|50G Reef|20G Tanganyikan|10G Divided Bettas|10G Nano Fish

I don't think people can fathem the speed in which these guys grow? They believe it will take years when it takes months. Real shame if they are informed yet still expect them to live in a small tank. I purchased some plants & another air stone for mine today & checked out the Oscars that are in the front display tank one more time. The smaller one wasn;'t looking too happy. Breathing rapidly. The tank is only about 3 foot wide x 1.5 foot x approx 3 foot high/deep. The large fish is about 12 inches & the smaller, 9!
I so wanted to take the lil' guy home but, would go through the same deal as with mine. Mine is about 10 inches now already.
my Oscar is mad

An inch a month for the first year.Yup! They do grow fast!
If yours O is ten inches now chances are he will not take lightly to another O in the tank.Unless you have a several hundred gallon tank and then its still not a sure thing.Oscars are best introduced as juvies.Ray

Thank you

As my Os died in a prolonged winter power outage in december here are the last pics I had of them, they were both a touch over 14" when they died.

For LFS that try to tell you a 55G is adequate...think again lol150G SA Cichlids|100G Planted Community|50G Reef|20G Tanganyikan|10G Divided Bettas|10G Nano Fish
