    Hello, I need to figure out what this fish is and I have been unsuccessful at finiding out what it is. So I call apong the experts of AC to help me, here is the image link.

    That, is what we call in the trade, an ugly fish, or uglius fishicus.

    it is quite ugly but I cant seem to find it anywhere... its a mystery fish.

    It looks kinda like a sub species of a silver dollar
    55gal: 1gold severum(jasper),1 Green Sev (Spot), 3 tiger barbs (left), bovarian ram.
    29gal: 3 goldfish growing out

    Looks like an ugly version of the Red Hook Silver Dollar but from the pic, we get no idea of size.

    Is it saltwater or brackish? Looks like it could be a variety of Scatophagus (aka scat). General shape and the polka dot pattern is in line ... though the fines aren't like the one I've seen.

    I did think at first it may be a adult red hook silver dollar but I dont believe it is because it seems to be large and the "hook" part seems to be too much infront of the stomach then normally on the red hook, so Im sorta at a lost. I do think it is closley related to the silver dollars though I just cant pinpoint it.

    Looks a bit like a Metynnis lippincottianus - really mature wild one but the finnage doesn't fit... mmmh

    55g - 1 oscar and 1 red zebra
    30g(planted) - 3 Trilineatus cories, 3 peppered cories, 1 female betta, 2 gold rasboras, and snails.
    50g - 4 lethrinops intermedius
    46g Hex - 2 black neon tetras, 3 bloodfin tetras, 3 blue tetras, 2 snakeskin gouramis, 3 Agassizi corys, 2 von rio tetras ,and 1 pleco
