eupterus getting nuts
In the last week, my featherfin has chased the blood parrots and firemouths, the silver dollars, the rainbows and the clown loaches. And each other. (The blood parrots and firemouths were happy to return the favor, tho.)
My largest featherfin has gotten a real attitude lately and gets all ticked off if the other featherfin happens to get on his log. I just keep piling more wood in the tank for them but grouchy wants it all.
Wonder what the heck got into this guy (or gal). Which is larger in the featherfins......males or females?
PS.....I read the females get larger and they live to around 18 years.Last edited by Lady Hobbs; 12-08-2008 at 02:05 PM.

Haven't taken a pic in ages but here he was a year ago. He's only 3 with 15 good years ahead of him.

S. eupterus have aggressive tendencies (as you've seen). That trait makes them ideal scavenger-types in african cichlid set up's.

I think i said it before, but i read they do best in their own tank, they have them at my lfs but i went home and did the research first and found that.
I hadnt thought about keeping them in an african tank
