corydoras and tiger barbs

Are corys and tiger barbs compatible?

well, I've had them together in my tank for a month now. No interest is shown in each other. I believe tiger barbs only like to nip the fins of slow moving fish with longer fins.

My tiger barbs are in a school of 8, so they're really only showing interest in each other.

they wont nip in schools of 8 or more

I agree with Glasstapper. We were told that we couldn't have really long-finned fish with the tiger barbs and I'll have to say that those long skinny front fins on gouramis (don't know the name) are now much much shorter than when they went in the tank. I haven't caught anyone in the act but I assume it was the barbs. I started with a school of 6 and lost one. The 5 still seem to mostly fight with each other but every once in a while they will mess with some of the others. I think I need to add a few more.
