Nice tank, strange sump

Not my tank, but a tank I saw on a local website. Look at the fully planted, inhabited sump! Does anyone do this? Comments?

I've heard of it being done with saltwater tanks, never seen or heard of it with freshwater tanks tho. Quite cool:)

I wish I did! The sump looks cooler and bigger than all my tanks..

It's cool, but I don't know that I'd classify it as a sump as much as a second tank attached to the first.

Maybe if it was full of clams and it was for a 1000 gallon freshwater tank :D

Indoor ponds are easy.Just get a 24" deep kiddie pool with the metal sides and vinvl insert.Add some nice stained and finished boards to the outside and a couple of filters and power heads and you are good to go!
I raised some bass like thyat and my brother raised a muskie in his.You will need a large plexi lid to stop them from jumping out because they will. Thats how we lost ours!

We lived in a giant old farm house at the time so we had room for that kind of stuff.
