Calming an agressive fish
I have a gold gourami in my 29G with a school of zebra, one otto and a silver sailfin molly. The gourami is female I believe because she has a rounded fin on her back. I know there are temporary solutions such as rearranging the tank to confuse them but I am looking into maybe adding a fish to calm her down.
She use to stay on her side of the tank and only chase if another fish wondered over there. I have noticed lately that she spends most of her time on the side of the tank that she hasn't claimed chasing the fish around.
Is there a fish I can add to calm her down or maybe give her some competition so that she forgets about my silver molly?
Shes such a bully! (If that rounded fin does indeed make her a her)

I would do another gourami but I am afraid that they could team up on the other fish. Should I do a male or female?

I would go for the opposite sex to whatever you have.
I really don't know what will happen. It could just be that the one you have has a bad attitude. Some are just bullies unless there is a reason yours ticked off about something in your tank.
LOL Maybe it knows it your taking off soon
When do you leave for training?Ray

I dunno I think your right, the fish just has a bad attitude.
I ship out February 4th for 9 weeks of basic and then 13 weeks for advanced individual training, it should be miserable which is just the way they want it.

I am doing it to be a police officer. Military police training will look much better along side a criminal justice degree than those who only have that degree. The value of a college education is slowly starting to drop...

Try taking the fish out, re-arranging all the decorations, then putting it back in. That trick worked beautifully on my green severum.
54 gallon corner tank:
6 gold barbs, 6 zebra danios, 1 pearl gourami, 4 ornate rainbows, 1 boesmani rainbow. Eheim 2215 cannister.
