You CAN get them much cheaper on Ebay, but most large aquariums are pick-up only, they dont ship well.

If I were you I would reinforce the stand with something, 150 gal (US) of water is over 1200lb, not including the weight of the tank.
Jeff's right, you will probably get it cheaper on ebay, if you can get it. You may have to wait for quite a while for one to come up. The price sounds about right for retails though (converting from US to Aus $)48" long 200l/55g tank

Ebay ships no glass aquariums as do anywhere on the internet with the exception of GlassCages. They also charge more than the tank to ship it.

if you are so inclined you could build your own tank too. just tying to think of cheaper ways for you to go about it. i wouldn't pay 500 dollars for a 150g tank personally. try searching ebay for tanks local to your area. someone is bound to have one. sometimes lfs's and distibutors sell tanks on "ebay stores" too. do you know any lfs's that are going out of business? that is also another good way to get a tank fairly cheap.--jeff

I dont know if you guys get it, but here in wichita we have whats called a penny power. Its a free newspaper ligke think that you can buy advertisments for in. They ALWAYS have large aquariums. If you have something like a penny power in your area, check it for sure!
