Default Aww man... oscar freaked me out!

So I've spent a good deal of time picking sea shells out of my sand. Sort of thing I wish I would have done before I put the sand in the tank.

I was scrubbing my tank, and I must have picked up a chipped clam shell and flung it up. Well my biggest oscar tooch eye balls it and trys to eat it, I sho him away and as I go to grab it, he dashes at it and eats it.

Well it gets stuck in his throat and he freaks out swimming back and forth gills flared up trying to get this thing out. I'm all sad thinking well what the hell do I do??

So I sit there while he kind of lays on the sand trying to spit this thing out. Then after like ten minutes he coughs it up, of course tries to eat it three more times while I'm pushing him away trying to grab it.

Worse than cats! Twas pretty lame. But he's fine, so I'm happy.

That must have been a sight to see........
They are very cool and interesting fish.
There may be plenty of fish in the sea, but there is only one in my pond.....

Never a dull moment with two of them lol

They definitely are interested with everything around them. They never seem to just swim aimlessly. Its like they're always exploring.

Wondering where the water goes in the overflow, watching my cats run by.... or eating shells and almost choking to death lol

    Yep! lol

I was wondering if there even was anything you could do for a fish in that case? Probably not which is sad.

If it came down to it you grab him by the lip and pull the shell out with needle nose pliers. Thats how we do it when we go fishing ;)

    Glad it wasn't necessary ;)
