Gator Sighting
My wife took these pics recently (she likes taking pictures of the birds in the park near the river), and spotted a small alligator in a pond area (we're in Tampa, Florida):

I'm not sure how common or rare they are, compared to other areas of Florida. They're 'around', but I've personally never seen one outside the zoo. We live in fairly urban area, though right at the pond area is a sign that reads "Beware of Alligator". (probably referring to one of the parents or larger peers of this small guy).

Another alligator sighting, this time out of the water and basking in the sun (my wife took this pic during her morning park walk the other day, perhaps the same one in the previous pic). It became aware of her right after this pic was taken and retreated into the water:

Not a gator, but at a nearby pond she also caught sight of a spoonbill....I didn't know these were even in the area:

Gators are thick and becoming a problem all over Florida
As I get older I find myself thinking about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.
