algae problem
please can someone advise me on my algae problem,i have goldfish in my 35litre tank,everything was fine for a year then my son turned off my filter(i didnt notice) and the algae is crazy the water is green.I have done 2 big water changes and its still very bad,the filter is a sting ray and is working.
help ,help!!!!!!!!

The quickest way to get rid of algae that I have found is to turn off the light and not feed for a couple of days. (fish can go several days w/o food) just dont turn on the light. You can also even black out the entire tank. That will speed it up even more

Yes ,stop feeding and keep it dark.I also remove all the decorations and plants and clean them under running water.For real plants I would prep some water for a w/c and wash the plants in that.Do not add it to your tank.

filter floss in your filter will also help take away what is floating around in the water.

It worked for me.Get a timer for your lights if you can.Its better for the fish too!

They need a bigger tank. A 35 liter tank is way too small for one goldfish, even worse for multiples and especially after a year.
