Peaceful Community
Just recently i have ressurected the neighbor kids tank back from the dead. He asked me what would be easy to care for in his 10 gallon. He already bought 1 neon blue darf gouramie, 2 black and green tetras, and a very small pleco. I was thinking of another gourami, 3 more tertas, and possibly 2 cories. Would that be too big of a load, or do you see any red flags as far as compatibility goes? Thanks

What kind of pleco? If it's a common, it will outgrow the tank quickly.

I'd probably go for a few more tetras first. They like to school so try and get them up to six.
After that, if the pleco will stay small you can try to add a couple of cories or another dwarf gourami.

Definitely a few more tetras first. Even the rubbernose pleco will be too big for a 10gal. Good luck!

The only plecos I have found that you can keep in a 10g (so far anyway) has been a bristle nose.

We went to fins and feathers, the lfs, and got him a bristle nose, he turned in his rubber nose, and we got his fish and they are getting along fine!
