Question of yours guys naming of fish?
Why do the stores call fish by diffrent names then you guys do on here?
You gus call it Banned Gourami--- store calls it Giant or Giant Asian Gourami.
You call it giant gourami----- store calls it Osphronemus Gourami

there are many common names for different species. they change no mater where you are in the world. one thing remains a constant- scientific names. one of the many reasons scientific names are so important, among others

jeff speaks the truth. This is why it's help ful to know the scinentific names for all the fish and plants.
The local wal mart calls them ghost catfish when they're more cmmonly called glass catfish.

Usually i can get the idea if someone uses a different name, but like Jeff said scientific names are a surefire way to make sure you are talking about the same fish.
