They are mean as hell. My friend works at the zoo and he almost got his finger bitten off... and had all of his tendons ripped and things.....
But pretty cool

Use it as really expensive mantis food, man. Nothing is meaner than a Mantis.
Yeah, I have heard of a few people with these things. It's only a 27" lizard. Lots of people have monitors and iguanas way bigger.
Just watch your fingies man.

Ya , I'm up in northern Ontario.
Strange pet and I don't understand what people see in them. But that is simply my opinion.I know a lot of people that have very large snakes and lizards. I kinda think it is morbid to watch a snake swallow a bunny .I guess I don't mind them eating rats ,but I don't like to watch!!!
How big do they get?
Different strokes for different folks, and we know there are a lot of them!

I see them all the time around where I live. They are legal in Canada.

I see them too occasionally. Not going to find them at petsmart though, thats for sure.
They are legal here, unless your specific municipality has something agaisnt them. Its cold up here, so any escapies would die in the winter.
They'd be awesome to keep as pets, although I sure wouldn't want it in my house. Maybe in a heated pond, or in my garage. Either that or put barbed wire around the tank.

I am not in Canada, I wish I were, LOL. I have had a few friends here that kept Caimans, they are ok as pets I guess, a lot more aggressive than what people think.

Aggression is the main reason people get rid of them.Or should I say , let them go!
