I agree totally!!!! If someone had total me a few months ago how much work it was i wouldn't have believed them. i also did my homework on the aquarium setup but was still surprised when we actually started. i am lucky tho, coz my husband did the "plumbing" for my 2nd tank & that helped a lot coz we could do a bit of brainstorming for each problem we faced.
to people who are considering a marine tank i would say, "Do you homework!!!!" it is so rewarding but only if you're not crying coz your fish etc are dying!"It's better to burn out than fade away!!!

i am new at keeping fresh water fish, a year or so and I applaud you for speaking the truth. i am fascinated by by this hobby and i wished i would have done more research before listening to the guy at the lfs who just wanted to make a sale. I think everyone in this forum is great and i hope no one takes your advice the wrong way i have learned alot from reading many posts here and when you guys seem upset is because you guys really care!

ccald, thank you for your kind words. You are quite right, generally when someone here gets upset, it's because we care about this hobby.
