The canopy with the Vega Colors are up and running. The tank is looking better without the PC lighting. I also purchased a VorTech MP 40w. I am loving this wave maker so far; the controls are a little confusing, but I think I just need to read the full manual. I still haven't installed RODI unit yet, which is the next thing on my to-do list. Source water is probably the biggest cause for my algae problem.

I would love to see some up-dated pics.
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

We'll see what I can manage sometime this week. The algae issue makes the tank not very photogenic right now.

I took a quick picture with my iPhone so not the best quality. Algae is still looking bad, but the AI Vega definitely makes the tank look at lot better then the PC's I was running.

I've seen a lot worse algae than that. Keep attacking it like you are planning to and it will go away. The hard part is knowing that stuff like that takes time

Looks like it has been a long time since I've given an update on my tank. Algae is still an issue, but life got in the way of regular water changes. I'm making more time for water change and tank maintenance. I'll post pictures once I get it back under control. RO/DI unit is up and running, so water changes will be easier and have a more controlled quality. I bumped up the water flow within the tank. Vortech MP 40 along with Koralia 2 and 3. I also refreshed my CUC numbers; it had been awhile since I bought new snails. I upgraded my overflow to a CPR Aquatic overflow. I had too many issues with a single u-tube overflow; if this doesn't work out, I'll switch to a double u-tube overflow.

A little teaser for everyone who reads this. Plans are starting to be made for a tank upgrade. No timeline has been made at present. The room and furniture placement is the only thing that is the works as of now. Not even sure what size the tank will be yet, but it will hopefully be 90+. More details... along way off.

    Thanks for reading.

I may try to post more often, but no guarantees with life being busy.

Anybody know if someone sells a check valve for vinyl tubing? It's the one safety future I need to add. My return is vinyl tubing. I may look into switching the return line to PVC just so I can have a check valve.

Google Hayward ball check valves. They sell threaded ones up to 2". You would just have to add two threaded hose barbs to each end.
