    I don't have goldfish, I used to. long time ago.

    But i've worked with fish for two years. So i know a bit. I've seen lots of fish problems so I'm sure mines healthy I've just never dont a planted tank, or a tank with sand.

    ammonia and nitrite MUST be zero. Any at all is injurious to you fish, as both can burn the gills, suffocating your fish. Nitrate should be under 10 ppm. Your tank is in no way cycled.

    Yes I know it's not cycled completely at all, which is why I'm asking if there's anything I can do to try to improve this.

    I will test my water again when I get to work and let you guys know the exact parameters. :)
