What is it with neons in my area? I drive the 20 miles to town 3 times now and they never have any. Yesterday I was able to snag 8......all they had which is more than they usually do. I wanted 25-30 of them. It may take me a couple years to get 30 of them at this rate. Forget cardinals. Those are not carried at all.

Hobbs i have the same problem with cardinals and if stores do have them they are 5-6 bucks... I was going to say try ordering neons online but your shipping over there isnt the best :)

you should come here! one LFS i used to go to sold neons 100 for $80 and they always had 300-400 in stock

Really weird seeing they are usually one of the most commonly stocked fish... wonder if there are problems with them lately.

Find out when their fish deliveries are and go that day to snag them! Will they take orders? I drove 20min to get some moss a week or so ago, only to find out that store had none. Nothing worse than driving somewhere, to find out it was a waste of time.

When I first started fish keeeping in Febuary, I had wanted to get maybe 10-12 neons (which I know now was stupid, but I hadnt joined this site) and They were 2.99 Each! Pfft, thats 30 some dollars... no thanks...

It's a pain getting just a few at a time because I treat new fish for ick as soon as I get them even if I don't see ick. After losing some 40 odd new fish to ick last fall, I take no more changes. That was the only time ever I went to a fish store and come home with dozens of them, too. :(

I have tried ordering them but am told they get whatever the delivery guy brings them. Smart way to do business, you think?

So you have a quarantine tank in which you treat all fish for ick? That sucks about the way they run the business. A smart way would be to take orders and make the customers happy! A happy customer comes back.
