Thread: Biotopes????

  1. Default Biotopes????

Any one know any good websites that clearly explain what are the different biotopes. I know what a biotope is but am curious on how to get specific info on certain types.

Biotope is a when you setup the tank with fish, plants, decor, water parameters, etc. as they would be in nature. You don't mix stuff that would never meet in nature.

There is a great book out that has outlines for over 80 biotope aquariums in it. It is 'Freshwater Aquarium Models'. Definitely look in to it if interested in biotope aquariums at all.

so, things you would find in an african lake in one tank, and fish you would find in an asian pond in another?
