Biotopes????
Any one know any good websites that clearly explain what are the different biotopes. I know what a biotope is but am curious on how to get specific info on certain types.

LOL that was the exact same site I was going to suggest. It's my favorite and has helped a lot with my research on amazon tank setups.

so a biotope is essentially a miniature version of a biome?

Biotope is a when you setup the tank with fish, plants, decor, water parameters, etc. as they would be in nature. You don't mix stuff that would never meet in nature.
There is a great book out that has outlines for over 80 biotope aquariums in it. It is 'Freshwater Aquarium Models'. Definitely look in to it if interested in biotope aquariums at all.Owner: Aquarium Maintenance and Pet Care Company
