Goldfish safe plants
Are there any plants that goldfish just won't touch that could live off just under 1.5 wpg. I'm looking to add some to their tank, but our goldfish eat everything and I'd like plants to take up the extra light and nutrients to help prevent algae growth (its not bad yet, but is starting to form on the black glass) Thanks for any help and suggestions.

i have some ferns in my 55 community. I'll try a few of those once they start and if they don't destroy them I'll buy more. Our shubukins seems to be the one that eats the most green. We feed them a small amount twice daily with the occasional cucumber or peas.

It depends on the rest of their diet. If their main diet is complete enough (and fed enough) they tend to ignore plants a lot more. Just like when we have a craving for certain foods it means we are missing something found in it (usually), if their diet is complete enough they won't crave the plants. I feed New Life Spectrum and mine only bother the plants if I miss feedings and they get hungry. I have anacharis, cabomba, moneywort, val, red bacopa, giant hygrophila, moss balls, swords, etc. all are under no more than about the lighting level you have. I use 50/50 bulbs though, not plant bulbs (half 6500K and half actinic).
