  1. Default Holy's 30 gallon freshwater planted system journal.

I update this in my blog as well (in more detail) so check there too!

Here's the lifespan of my tank up to now:

    Tank after two weeks:

    Tanks after 3 1/2 (we'll call it 4) weeks:

I'll keep this updated, sorry for my lame images, the only camera that I own is a cell phone camera =( I'm saving for a DSLR though!

You will notice that it isn't as green in the most recent image -- this is because of a mini-cycle due to the addition of red minor tetras (I hope). I also added in an aerator in the latest image, because I was concerned about Co2 suffocation of the fish. In addition, I removed the little patch of micro swords from the right side -- it wouldn't stay rooted, and the rest will spread anyway.

    Current Stock:
    Cherry Shrimp
    5 peppered cories
    7 red minor tetras
    5 otos
1 pleco that will be turned in when it gets too large (read blog for story on hurricane ike, for full story.)

Ok so, all the cambomba came uprooted thanks to my pleco, so I had to cut it back/rebury it (start over).

My micro swords uprooted, through the "grid" fishalicious recommended, and was impossible to replant, I have one small clump that i've tried to root, but it floats again, I'll toss it and get a banana plant or something as a showplant.

My AERO aerator broke, so I had to take it our (hence the cloudiness), I may have to get an air pump to keep O2 levels up...

On a good note, my rupin and lotus are looking great!

    Nice looking lotus!

I'll definitely be giving swords a try in my next tank..

I am disappointed with the cabomba in my tank..

Will definitely go with a more-hassle free type of plant like this on in the future, like Bacopa caroliniana..

The cabomba is just too much hassle.. The fine leaves are constantly getting clogged with detritus, and if you put the slightest bit of waterflow from a filter outlet on them to correct this, they bend right over like limp noodles.. :(
