Sneak preview of my new stand
This is my latest test of my woodworking skills. It is also my first time "skinning" a frame, and trimming it out, all in oak. I think it turned out pretty decent for a backyard build...
55 on top, 29 on bottom.
I used this schematic that i found somewhere online. Its one rugged stand!
I have to sand and stain it and i am hoping to have it setup tomorrow. I am going to build a small door for the top of the 29 area, and when closed all you will see is the glass of the tank, like looking through a window!
Canopy is next, and will house two sets of shop lights totaling 160 watts, two plant bulbs, two sunshine bulbs
As soon as this stand is done I'm building another, smaller version for my salt water tank. 29 on top, 10 fuge below.

Gah! My sister and I wanted to do something similar, but with equal sized tanks. (40 gallon breeders, one with fish, the other for a boa.) I'm glad to see it can be done at least with one larger than the other. We aren't going to live together after all, but I might swipe the plans anyway.
