paradise fish never get on?
hi there,
we have had a few sets of paradise fish before in the past. I bought two at first a male and female unfortuantlay I had female bettas in the tank and they fought till only one paradise left and one betta. So I went back and got some advice, was told to get two female paradise and one male and they shouldn't fight ... they fought and the origanal survivar from the first fight lived on. We decided not to get any more paradise fish for a few years but then our princess passed away, wierd accident in the tank caused an injury she didn't recover from and we really missed her. Snyway we decided to go and get some advice again and get some more... this time told we should get three females to one male and they will be fine! so we popped then in, next day bubble nests were being built and they were loving it (unfortunatley the nests kept breaking up) but after a few weeks we spotted some marks on one from pecking and ... next day I turned the light on and she was dead. few days later same thing but they wiped each other out male and female. the female was on her last legs but couldn't hold on. so one left.
How are these fish meant to live in a group? Every time I go they tell me different things. I know they are catalogued under gouramis but they have similaritis to bettas should they be treated as such? We keep so many fish and have never had any problem like this before. I just need some proper advice from someone who actually knows what they are talking about! My hubby wants to give up on them, and I would agree if it was a health issue, a water issue something like that but we know we can keep them healthy.
sorry long email just upset, my choice of fish lol and mine always die
never leave a flat mate to look after your fish on honey moon lol that can cost ya BIG time!
Anyway advice much appreciated,
and thanks for reading to here!! lol
