The Mystery Snail mystery question...
I got to thinking.... why are they called "mystery" snails? Then I thought this would be a great way to test everyone's creativity.
Submit your theories below....
My first thought is the person who first discovered them. They rode their steed into town to check out their local trade shop to buy plants for their magic fish box. There they find the finest aquatic greenery they have ever seen and pick up a few specialty plants labeled "FlatLeafSouthAmericanus"... Weeks later they are watching the new habitat they proudly created for their tea parties and notice a dozen rocks climbing the walls of their magic box. They then mumble to themselves... "What the......?"

Just a common name thought up by some clever collector/marketer many decades ago to make them more attractive to people. Guess it's better than Big Ole Snail as a common name :)

It is a mystery how they took over the world and actually became a pest in some countries. I believe they invaded Australia now. I think that is where the name came from?
There may be plenty of fish in the sea, but there is only one in my pond.....
